perfection encapsulated

Maybe the best memories in life simply cannot be captured in their full glory.

They are the moments that are magical at the very instant they happen,
and yet when you try to revisit them after they've passed, it isn't quite the same anymore.
Because that's what moments are: brief, exact points in time.
And just like how you can never recreate perfection,
you might try to recall the details, to create the picture in your mind, to put them into words, but find that it's near impossible to relive them.

All you can get are wisps of happiness that curl the ends of your mouth into a smile in the mere seconds that you are able to grasp them for.

when the dream came trueee..

It’s always been my dream to run a “up-in-the-air” plane theme restaurant,
Having all the food to serve in a meal we used to have in the plane (those lunch and dinner boxes?),
with boarding pass issued for people who dines in, with gorgeous stewardess-like waitress serving and a pilot captain to run the floor.

I thought of this years back and I’m inspired since I was 19 (if not wrong) .
Last night, just when I was browsing some travel's web excitedly planning my next holiday trip,
I found my “dream restaurant” came real to me. my idea does worked! Regrettably, I don’t own it by myself. :(

A380 空中廚房, Taipei

Nevertheless, I would still love to visit them! :)

inspired..

my day automatically brighten up when i read discerning posts by individuals who are dedicated and passionate about what they do. or those who come to terms with their lives and their history.
These people almost never grumble about being shortchanged and tries their very best to make the best out of what they have. inspirational? very much.
So i ask myself then, what gives? and before i knew it, i came up with a mentor-to-mental list (I use queer name only myself will understand) which i will shamelessly stick by for at least some time to come. (pretty handy when i raise my kid)

1. School sucks, but Education is really important

Skipping lessons cos you hate your bias/boring/chalky lecturer or feel that the 2 hour lecture wouldn’t matter because it would have been spent doing more thrilling things with friends? Think again and mark my words. education, all in all, is what determines you in the long run (which I came to realize)

2. Never let anyone tell you your worth

Never ever, ever let anyone determine how much you are worth. you set the benchmark for yourself and they negotiate if they have intent on getting you. you don’t owe anyone a favour, you owe yourself one.

3. Start saving when you’re young, while you’re young.

This is probably the only thing that i didn’t factor in when i was a teen, and now i’m having to bite the dust. You are young, you have less liabilities/commitments and you are still in a student-saving mode. i know it’s really tough telling a 15 year old kid to save when they are getting a miserable sum for pocket money, but every single cent counts. once you’ve crossed 21 (earlier the better), be wise and invest if you can. (though I don’t falls into this category of people, which is why I’m slogging my ass to a routine job every day for just one stable income)

4. The coolest people are your family

We are all a separate entity, but we are all brought together by an inimitable bond that determined our identity (amazing). You are always reminded for the root on your head. The endless care, love and concern were irreplaceable. You can come home reeking of alcohol, falling sick, getting injured after games and you know there’s always someone there at home to take care of you. undoubtedly, there are the care less parents who care less when their kids flunked in school, who care less the well and being of their own kids. i’m glad I have a family who cared, which made them cool in my dictionary.

5. Ride along with your passion, it takes you the furthest

Need i say more?

long weekend is ending, way way faster than i expected it to.
but well, it is a cooling sunday to sleep in, stay home watching tv and indulge yourself in reading..
Till then!

Taking a trip down memory lane, Things have changed,

For those who were born in the 70s and 80s...

1. You grew up watching MASK, Transformers, Silver Hawk, and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget, Ninja turtles, My Little Pony, Tom and Jerry and Smurfs too.
2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in Primary school during recess time. You will squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug. The teachers said you must brush each side 10 times too.
3. You pay 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in class.
4. You find your friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary school.
5. Buses used to be non-air conditioned. The bus seats are made of wood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP! When pressed. There are colourful tickets for TIBS buses. The conductor will check for tickets by using a machine, which punches a hole in the ticket.
6. You've probably read Young Generation magazine. You know who 'Vinny' the little vampire and Acai the constable.
7. You were there when they first introduced MRT here. and you would kneel on the seat to see the scenery.
8. Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50?

12. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five are probably the thickest storybooks you ever thought you have read.
13. KFC used to be a high-class restaurant that serve food in plates and let you use metal forks and knives.
14. Catching was the IN thing and twist as the magic word.
15. Your English workbooks were made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow.
16. Water bottles were slinged around your neck and a must everywhere you go.
17. Boys loved to play soccer with small plastic balls in the basketball court.
18. Teng-teng, five stones and zero point were allthe rage with the girls and boys too...
19. We wear BATA, or Pallas shoes.
20. The worksheets were made of brown rough paper of poor quality.
21. School dismissal time was normally around 1pm.
22. There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almosteveryday.
23. Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you $3 or more for pocket money everyday.
24. You freak out when the teacher tells you to line up according to height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl.
25. Boys like to catch fighting spiders.
26. Collecting and battling erasers was a pastime for boys.
27. Autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not",and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friend like you, hard to forget".
28. Class monitors and prefects loved to say, "You talk some more, I write your name ah!"
29. There were at least 40 people in one class.
30. Large, colourful schoolbags were carried.
31. You brought every single book to school, even though there was one thing called the timetable.

And those were the days.. we missed… isnt it?
